What is it?
A hybrid vehicle uses a combination of an internal combustion engine and a battery electric drive system to improve fuel economy and reduce emissions. The most common type of hybrid car combines Gasoline and Electric Motor.

What does it do?
When a hybrid vehicle comes to a stop, an “idle stop” mode will engage that shuts the gasoline engine off. If you begin moving again, the vehicle will move under power from the electric motor, much like an electric golf cart. Shortly thereafter, the gasoline engine will restart and power the vehicle under normal driving conditions. This save on both fuel and emissions as the gasoline motor is only used when the car really needs it.
